This bookend is exactly like the picture shows it. Very cute, and gets compliments from guests. We are happy. Your books lean over and don’t fall over. The book closest to the running figures has the metal plate between the cover and body of the book. We store our birding books on a shelf between our dining room and living room with this bookend, and this has been the only issue: it’s more of a hassle to remove the book near the figures than to remove a book from a normal bookshelf. So….pick a book you don’t pull down often to use for the last book. We use all of our bird books often, so we encounter this. It’s not a huge hassle – just a few extra seconds to retrieve the rightmost book, and we would definitely buy again and are loving the bookend.

Cool bookend. Definitely a conversation piece when visitors see it. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that it’s a little light. The problem is that you have to have enough books to counter weight the leaning. Then sometimes the books slide along the base. It’s ok but would be perfect if the base was sturdy enough. Still would recommend. Great product.

I was looking for something fun to use as bookends after updating a guest room. These are so cute. They work best if you use one at a time with the books up against a wall of your bookcase (I have 5-7 hardbacks being held up by each one). I put one on the first shelf with books over to the left and one on the second shelf with the books over to the right. Makes an attractive and fun arrangement. The bookends arrived on time and well packaged.
