These blinds are great, not only do they block the sun, but they also block the heat. My bedroom is on the east side of my house, so I get the morning sun, with these shades it is pitch black in my bedroom until I raise them. When I raised them one morning I could feel the heat coming in so now I leave them closed until later in the day when the sun is on the back of the house. They have made a difference in my electric bill (I live in Florida).
