I am so happy with this shade film! It allows enough light to pass while stopping a good deal of heat. After all, that’s why I purchased it. I use it in my travel trailer. The windows are already tinted and I like light in the trailer. I noticed a difference in the radiant heat almost immediately in my kitchen area. That has made quite a difference. Daytime privacy is great! It’s looks great on the windows, inside and out. I made a mistake on the install on one window and there are some creases in it. It doesn’t bother me enough to replace it. It’s not a window I open the shades on very often. It’s a good size for some windows. I didn’t measure all the windows so I will be purchasing more in a larger size. I am that happy with it. I looked at several different options before purchasing this. I felt this was the best value for the money. It seems to be a more commercial type product than some of the other films I have used in the past.

Our mid-west summers get toasty, and our little a/c has been no match trying to keep us cool during the peak, and we can’t afford a full a/c and furnace system swap at the moment. So we have been looking at other ways to keep cool.First, we got some window a/c units, which we will use during the summers in occupied rooms, and we just leave the main house unit off since it runs all day and can never cool the upstairs. Doing this alone dropped our electricity by over half! But thats not enough for me, I wanted to reduce the heat coming in from the windows, as I knew it was significant. Last year we tried black-out film on a few, but it has started falling off, and it looks choppy since you cant see through it while trying to trim around the window during install. So anyhow, that brings us to this year, I found this on Amazon, and the heat and UV reduction is what caught my interest, more so than the tint itself. We watched a few install videos before it arrived so were somewhat familiar with what to do. Once it arrived, I was a little dissapointed because I thought I would be getting the same tint level as the Amazon picture, but this was due to my lack of attention, the other pictures showed what level 35 was. But I decided to go ahead due to the heat blocking advertised, plus we have some beautiful views I did not want to take away from.We picked a less visible window to start with in case mistakes were made, but happily, it was perfect first go! My second attempt was our master bedroom, two large east facing windows that just pump radiant heat into the room for the first half of the day. Now here is what sold me….they are horizontal sliding windows with a left and right side. After i did the one side, there was sunlight shining on the floor from the left side and the right side. And although the sunlight spots looked about the same in intensity, stepping on the carpet from the tinted side was considerably cooler in bare feet than from the untinted side, I even had my girlfriend come do the same and she was shocked! Next we did our biggest offender, the sliding glass door and its side windows. We will be placing another order for the same, and finish up the remaining windows, and I will be very much so watching my electric bill for the next year to compare, but my initial reaponse is that Im very happy with the results. For the install, I found a process that works well:Clean very well obviously, including the gunk at base.Moisten window and razor wipe the entirety, then windex clean twice.Cut film to size (1” extra each side)Remove protective film half way down the tintSpray the window and the stick side of exposed film heavily with soapy water.Stick top of film to window, make sure aligned!Use felt squeegee to get a rough set placement and stick. Squeegee left and right out from the middle, staring and top and working down. Remove the remaining protective film and spray stick side and window with soapy water, finish felt squeegee for the rest of window. After the rough set is done, spray the tinted window with soapy water, then use the hard plastic side of the squeegee and repeat the process from top to bottom (without the re-added soapy wayer, the plastic squeegee grabs). The included razor was perfect for trimming, just be slow and careful. Corners are the most difficult!Inspect the window closely after trimming, and from many different angles, you will often see little ripples….if you catch them at this stage, they easily will squeegee out, just spray the wipe path with a little more soapy water. Then give a last squeegee pass around the edges since thats where most of the water is remaining and bubble/separation is most likely.

I was attempting to reduce heat in a sunroom and had to apply film to 8 storm windows (at 2 panes per window). I was worried about the quality of the install because I had never installed window film on a relatively large area (my windows were approximately 25″ square each pane). I followed the instructions, and was very generous with the soapy water and while I was initially disappointed with my application on the first window (a handful of teeny tiny bubbles), I had found a groove and technique that worked for me and I was able to do better through the rest of the windows taking approximately 8-12 minutes per window. I intended to go back and redo the first window after feeling like I had mastered the install, but after a few warm, sunny days, the bubbles seemed to work themselves out somehow and you cannot even tell the windows have film on them. I like that it adds a slight tint that is not super apparent from the inside, and a slight mirrored look from the outside that adds a small amount of privacy. It is hard to say if it made a significant amount of difference in terms of temperature impact because I coupled this improvement with a roof vent at the same time. Would recommend the product given the price, quality, and my experience!

Installed the tint yesterday, solo, and no blinding sun rays this morning, but the light still comes in and I can see outside. The product came with a scraper and knife. Both worked well to complete the job. Easy to install, but have help if available. My window was 52×22. I accidentally cut the height too small and did not have an inch on both sides – it’s important. Make sure you have enough excess on all four sides.
