I purchased this window film to put on the long thin windows that flank my front door, as well as the windows above some doors at the back of my house. The film works well (provides privacy but lets light in) and looks great. I am satisfied with it as a product. My only complaint is that I consider it expensive for how much film you get on a roll, but this doesn’t keep it from being an easy-to-use, functional item. One really great feature of the product that I have discovered is that the pattern will match up end to end, so if you need to cut your film to cover a specific amount of area, you can cut it to make the pattern continuous. Just make sure you match up the ends correctly! For example, for my long, thin windows, I cut the film in half lengthwise, which meant I still needed more film at the bottom of my windows. To do this, I matched up the end of the film already on the window with the film I had remaining, and the pattern matched up beautifully. 🙂

I got this for my bathroom window to let light in and yet have privacy. It was super easy to work with. I thought it would be a lot harder. My window was about 18″ wide by 36″ tall. I measured and cut the film with the backing on. I allowed a smidge extra so I would not have it to small. I figured I could trim it if necessary. On my window I was able to just leave the extra like 1/16″ without an issue. The directions say to use a squeegee so I bought one with my order, but be aware that it comes with one so do not buy one. Also I found that using a wet wash cloth actually works way better than the squeegee. Honestly do not bother with a squeegee. I did apply it to a wet window first but felt it was hard to get it to lay flat. I ended up wiping the water off the window and reapplying it. It might have been damp but was not as wet. I felt that the plastic is thick enough and clingie enough that it will stick if your window is clean even if it’s dry.I used a damp wash cloth to smooth it out from the center working out and this worked great. It’s easy to re-position if you need to.I really love that this is not permanent. Just peel it off and it leaves no residue or anything. You could even re-use it if you wanted to.I love the leaf pattern. It is nice looking without being overly decorative. Plus the way the pattern is drawn you can put it on the window in any position and it will look fine.I am thinking about doing some of my other bathroom windows with this film. I probably would not put it on the front of my house but think it’s fine for the back or side. It would also look great for side lights on a front door or a small window over a door. Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks*I paid full price for this item.

I put this in my second story bathroom that faces the street. I used it in the bottom half of a double hung window, left the top window clear, so now I have a nice view of the trees, but no ugly street view, and no worries about people seeing in to the bathroom. I still think at night it needs the shade pulled down, but it is perfect for daytime. This is really lovely, super easy to put up and looks fantastic. I am really bad at measuring and cutting, so that was the only headache- six panes to match up. I accidentally cut one the wrong direction, and my son noticed that the lines were going the opposite way in one pane. No one else noticed at all, but just to warn you to cut all out in the same direction if fitting into multiple panes. I would also cut it closer to the actual window size than they recommend since there is a slight gap. Not sure why they recommend that. I used a metal ruler with a square built in (?) and an exacto knife. Cut slowly to keep a straight line. I didn’t have a squirt bottle so just filled a bowl with soapy water and rubbed that onto the window with my hand. Worked fine. Also, I put this up during the day, and didn’t notice any bubbles at all, but they were visible at night. So maybe it would help to put up when it is darker outside? Not sure. This is a great solution to poorly placed windows. I am not sure if there would be an off gassing smell if in a window that gets direct sunlight. I didn’t notice a smell though, but window doesn’t get direct sun.
